Job description: Salary: No less than $15.75 per hour based on verifiable similar experience per the negotiated PASS Agreement
Paraprofessionals assigned to Specialized programs are eligible to be awarded multiple additional stipends each semester (must work minimum of 70 days per semester)

Paid school year holidays
IMRF retirement / pension plan
Optional 403B tax-sheltered annuity plan available
Hours:
Full Time: 7 hours per day, 9 months
Monday - Friday
Job Summary:
Special Education Paraprofessionals play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of our students as directed by Special Education Teachers. The Specialized Program Paraprofessional is responsible for providing services and supports to the instructional program with specific responsibility for
Assisting in supervision, care, and instruction of students with unique or specialized needs in the regular classroom or in a specialized program
Assisting in implementing plans, interventions, and strategies for instruction on academic, social/emotional, and life skills
Implementing behavioral plans designed by the IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
Gathering data related to student needs and abilities
Assisting with students who may require toileting, feeding and lifting
Monitoring students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (e.g., rest rooms, playgrounds, hallways, bus loading zones, parking lots, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
The Specialized Program Paraprofessional may utilize behavioral approaches such as ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) or CPI (Crisis Prevention) when working with students to ensure students are provided with the support they need to access the least restrictive environment (LRE).
Description:
Ability to work as a team member.
Assist students across school settings (lunch, recess, restroom).
Willing to work with students with disabilities or special needs
Ability to monitor student behavior.
Ability to implement de-escalation techniques
Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff

Qualifications:
One of the following State of Illinois Licenses registered in Will County: Paraprofessional (ELS(PARA)), Substitute (SUB), or Professional Educator License (PEL)
College transcripts with 60+ credit hours or have passed the WorkKeys Assessment
