Job description: About the Ed Ladder: The Ed Ladder (TEL) is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed by educators in 2013 to assist under-served learners, i.e., those students who proverbially "fall through the cracks," through supplemental academic instruction and mentoring on study and life skills. A ladder enables us to get to a place we otherwise would be unable to reach. The ED Ladder gets into those very cracks and reinforces students? capabilities so they can climb out themselves.

The Program Manager I will play a crucial role in overseeing the testing and curriculum coordination efforts, focusing on proctoring tests for K-12th graders, managing online testing databases, and coordinating with testing with teachers. The Program Manager will also support a team of Academic Coaches while monitoring their progress with students. This is a full-time (38 hours per week) hybrid remote position with a flexible schedule, but must be available when needed during the hours of 4pm - 8pm, Monday through Friday.

Testing and Curriculum Coordination (70%)

Proctor pre-and post-tests in person to K-12th graders in English Language Arts and Math.
Prepare online tests and upload sensitive information into the online testing database.
Upload test results into our online tutoring database
Travel to various sites in locations all over San Diego County, from Mira Mesa to Otay Mesa.
Photocopy, distribute, collect, and organize all materials as needed.
Train Academic Coaches on how to proctor their own tests and use the Renaissance platform.
Coordinate with Academic Coaches and school administration on testing schedule and the drop-off and pick-up of materials.
Respond to Academic Coach's questions at a moment's notice
Create testing reports
Support the Education Director with interpreting the testing data and aligning the correct educational interventions for the Academic Coaches
Ensure teachers are following the testing protocols accurately and timely
Staff Management (30%)

Manage a caseload of at least 10 Academic Coaches
Support with recruiting new Academic Coaches and marketing of the program
Participate in the Academic Coach hiring process
Regularly travel to different worksites and observe staff
Contribute to annual reviews for Academic Coaches
Build rapport and a supportive culture between Academic Coaches and The Ed Ladder administrative staff
Monitor Academic Coaches on virtual Zoom meetings with students
Monitor Academic Coaches written reports on Oases
Follow up with Academic Coaches? questions and concerns
Act as a substitute teacher for Academic Coaches when needed
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience with test-proctoring.
Must be organized, adhere to strict deadlines, and have exquisite attention to detail.
Must be technically savvy, willing to use two different databases, have comfort with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace and virtual platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet.
Must be able to communicate professionally with The Ed Ladder administrators, Academic Coaches, teachers, school administrators, and students.
Must have access to a personal computer, Internet, and a telephone.
Must be willing and able to work in-person and travel to worksites.
Must be willing to respond by telephone to Academic Coaches emergencies between the hours of 4pm-8pm.
Must work well under pressure, be patient, and be professional when working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Renaissance platforms
Bilingual in Spanish
Teaching credential in a related field: English, math, or multiple subject credential
Life experiences similar to the student population
Experience working with special needs populations

Compensation

$20 per hour when working on testing and curriculum coordination, and managing Academic Coaches
$22 per hour when working as a substitute Academic Coach in Title I and Youth in Transition programs with individual students
$25 per hour when working as a substitute Academic Coach in the Altus School program
$25 per hour when working as a substitute Academic Coach in Title I and Youth in Transition programs with 2+ students
Benefits:

Additional Information:

Candidates must be willing to be vaccinated or be tested weekly for Covid-19, and willing to work in a hybrid environment
