Job description: VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Professional Office Personnel (200 Days) position (Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred) at Romeoville High School for the 2023/2024 school year.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reports to the appropriate Building Administrator.
Perform general clerical duties, such as, but not limited to, answering phones; greeting visitors, scheduling meetings, sorting and distributing U.S. and inter-district mail, typing correspondence, filing, preparing and initiating Parentlink calls, completing data entry, attending district meetings, distributing supplies, and preparing/distributing parent event flyers.
Additional responsibilities will be assigned to certain areas such as, but not limited to: Athletics, Attendance, Bookstore, Core Content, Special Education, Student Services and Switchboard/Mailroom.
Each supervisor will assign specific duties from the list below related to the various rolls within their building and department, as needed. This list is not meant to be an all-inclusive list, but rather to define, with as much latitude as possible, the essential functions of this position.


Support the Guidance Department Administrator with various tasks.
Support the building Student Services Administrator/SRT Leader with various tasks.
Support the Dean and Student Services departments with various tasks.
Support the Athletic Department with various tasks.
Manage daily student attendance tasks.
Provide assistance with major student events through the school year.
Process requests for building usage.
Perform purchasing functions.
Prepare and organize parent-teacher conferences.
Prepare for school parent events.
Act as back-up employee attendance operator for the building, as assigned.
Assist with interpreting parent phone calls, meetings and or/translating written communication, if applicable.
Attend evening events, as requested.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Some College preferred.
Minimum of 2 years secretarial experience, preferred.
Must possess proficient typing, grammar and computer skills, including all Microsoft Office and Google products.
Knowledge and experience with office equipment.
Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and on the phone.
Must be proficient in general clerical tasks.
Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
Must possess the ability to perform and complete assigned tasks.
Must be able to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
Ability to work collaboratively with administration, staff and stakeholders.
Serve as a role model for all students, and perform duties to create an environment that is conducive to providing students an enhanced and engaged learning opportunity.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Salary is paid in accordance with the office personnel salary schedule. The District offers excellent fringe benefits, including life, health and dental insurance.
