About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Project Development Director to lead the end-to-end development of projects across Latin America. This is a leadership role requiring independent ownership of a diverse project portfolio, with accountability for driving projects from inception through to operational deployment.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, engaging directly with senior internal and external stakeholders, including executives, partners, investors, and government representatives. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a strong execution mindset, capable of navigating complexity while delivering commercially and scientifically robust outcomes.
You will have direct experience of driving large-scale infrastructure projects, attracting investments of $20 million+
Key Responsibilities
Independently lead the full lifecycle development of projects, from origination and feasibility through to execution and operational handover
Take full ownership of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery against strategic, commercial, and technical objectives
Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, investors, government bodies, and strategic partners
Balance commercial priorities with scientific, environmental, and technical dependencies in project design and delivery
Drive decision-making, project governance, and escalation processes at a senior level
Manage project timelines, budgets, and risks with minimal oversight
Represent the organization in high-level negotiations, partnerships, and regional engagements
Candidate Profile
Fluent Spanish speaker (required)
Extensive experience developing projects independently from inception to operational deployment
Background in project development within carbon-led reforestation or renewable energy sectors
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects concurrently with minimal supervision
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to integrate scientific and technical considerations into decision-making
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders
Highly developed project management capabilities, with exceptional attention to detail
Comfortable operating in a senior, autonomous role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Knowledge of government policy related to carbon projects and the ability to adapt to regulatory changes
Location & Travel
Ideally based in Colombia, or willing to relocate
Ability and willingness to travel extensively across Latin America to lead project development and maintain senior stakeholder relationships
