A salary of a competitive salary is offered, reflecting your skills and experience.   Job title: Home Instruction Tutor Company: Stamford Public Schools Job description : Home Instruction tutors accept responsibility to provide tutoring support either remotely or in person for students enrolled in Stamford Public Schools, yet unable to attend. Tutors support the student in the assignments and assessments as directed by the certified teacher and provide information to the teacher about the student's learning progress. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate successful learning experiences for assigned student(s) aligned to the student's needs and content area(s). Provide information in order for the classroom teacher to evaluate and assess student's performance and growth. Create a safe and welcoming learning environment. Collaborate with the home school to attain required materials, communicate progress and planning, and to submit completed assignments on a weekly basis. Uphold organized documentation and submit on time. Accept guidance from classroom teachers, program administrators, or Student Support Staff. KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to create a safe and welcoming environment either remotely or in person. Ability to work with students of all backgrounds and all age groups. Possess basic understanding and knowledge of current technology. Knowledge and understanding of concepts being taught to the student. QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a college degree in any discipline. Certified teachers preferred. Passionate about working with students and a keen interest in student growth and development Ability and knowledge to facilitate successful learning experiences for assigned students. Demonstrate expertise with current district curriculum initiatives or willing to receive extensive, specific training on them. Comfortable with a broad range of academic topics that are part of the school curriculum. Ability to collect observational data. Ability to implement behavioral intervention plans. Demonstrated capacity to work cooperatively with others. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written TERM Tutors can work up to 20 hours per week. Positions will be temporary in nature, and dependent upon the needs of the student. Homebound Instruction students are seen during school hours, or in late afternoon or evenings. The actual time of instruction is worked out coollaboratively between the family, the tutor, and communicated to the Homebound Instruction Administration. Compensation College Graduate: $20/hr. Connecticut Certified Teacher: $30/hr. Stamford Education Association Certified Teacher: As per SEA contract.
