Typical Responsibilities:
 Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
 Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in both individual and group settings.
 Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students receive appropriate services and supports.
 Utilize various teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student engagement and learning.
 Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting instructional plans as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
 Must hold a valid state-issued Special Education Teaching License.
 Michigan Standard OR Professional Certificate with ANY endorsement:
 Cognitive Impairment
 Speech & Language Impairment
 Physical or Other Heath Impairment
 Emotional Impairment
 Learning Disabilities
 Physical Education for Students with Disabilities
 Autism
 BachelorÂs or MasterÂs degree in Special Education or related field required.
 Experience with special education students, including developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), is highly preferred.
