The Workers Compensation Team Attorney provides legal support and guidance to business operations, specifically for California claims, ensuring legal issues are addressed and providing training to analysts. Responsibilities Advise General Counsel on relevant legal issues regarding Workers’ Compensation Operations Provide timely and suitable legal review and advice to assigned workers’ compensation recovery teams Ensure that possible adverse suits and legal matters towards clients and Company are handled appropriately Provide training in relevant legal issues as assigned to new and current analysts Communicate with Workers’ Compensation Analysts as needed with information and guidance regarding new court decisions, statutes, and regulations and the potential impact on file handling Skills Juris Doctorate from an approved ABA law school License to practice law in any state Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a keen ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with teams and clients Working knowledge of Microsoft Office California license is a plus One or more years of workers' compensation experience preferred Benefits FTO (Flexible Time Off) Eligibility for health, vision and dental coverage 401(k) plan participation with company match Flexible spending accounts Eligibility for company-paid benefits including life insurance, short-term disability, and generous parental leave.
