Remote Contract WordPress Website Designer, Graphic Designer & Copywriter About Us Kakapo Marketing is a boutique marketing agency serving nonprofit ministries, churches, and mission-driven businesses around the world. Our mission is to help Kingdom-minded organizations clarify and communicate their message with excellence—so they can fulfill their mission more effectively. We are currently seeking a multi-talented WordPress Website Designer, Graphic Designer, and Copywriter to join our team on a contract basis. This is a remote, flexible position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and desires to make a meaningful impact through their work. What You’ll Do As a member of our creative team, you’ll play a key role in bringing our clients’ stories to life online through beautiful, functional, and SEO-optimized websites. This position requires a strong balance of technical, creative, and strategic skills. Primary Responsibilities • Collaborate with team members and clients to design and build custom WordPress websites from concept to completion • Create clean, responsive designs that look and function beautifully on desktop and mobile • Write SEO-friendly, grammatically flawless, on-brand website content • Maintain and support existing WordPress websites, performing regular updates and troubleshooting issues • Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, and search engine visibility • Ensure consistent visual identity through thoughtful use of brand elements, including fonts, colors, imagery, and voice • Design supporting graphics for websites, landing pages, and email marketing campaigns • Assist with the planning, scheduling, and coordination of creative projects What You Bring Required Qualifications • 4+ years of experience designing and developing WordPress websites • A strong portfolio of WordPress websites demonstrating both design and functionality • Proven ability to write creative, engaging, and SEO-informed website copy • Advanced knowledge of responsive design best practices • Proficiency with HTML and CSS • Solid understanding of SEO principles and experience using keyword research tools • Familiarity with Google Analytics and basic performance reporting • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organization • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)—Mac-based preferred • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with consistent internet access • Reliable Mac computer and active Adobe Creative Cloud license Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field • Experience working with mission-driven or nonprofit organizations • Experience with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, etc.) and WordPress themes • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and basic project management tools (Asana, Trello, etc.) What We Value • A heart for mission and ministry • Clear communication and collaboration • Excellence and creativity in every detail • Integrity, initiative, and follow-through To Apply Please submit the following: • Your resume • A short cover letter or introduction • A portfolio of at least 3 WordPress websites you’ve designed and written content for • Any relevant writing samples or branding work We look forward to hearing from you and potentially welcoming you into the Kakapo Marketing family!
