[Remote] VP Operational Finance
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OEC is seeking a strategic and hands-on senior finance leader to partner with business and functional executives to drive performance and profitability. This role involves leading Operational Finance and Business Analysis teams, providing insights for decision-making, and ensuring financial discipline across the organization.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Serve as the primary finance partner to business unit and functional leaders, shaping strategy and translating goals into actionable financial and operational plans
ā¢ Provide insights that inform pricing, customer acquisition and retention, product strategy, and go-to-market decisions
ā¢ Support decision-making with scenario modeling, forecasting, and real-time analysis
ā¢ Establish financial guardrails that balance growth, profitability, and long-term value creation
ā¢ Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across business units in alignment with corporate timelines
ā¢ Build driver-based models that improve forecast accuracy and visibility into key performance indicators
ā¢ Own operational performance reporting and monthly business reviews with clear insights, accountability, and action plans
ā¢ Conduct variance and trend analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and root causes, and recommend solutions
ā¢ Drive gross margin and contribution margin improvement initiatives across the business
ā¢ Analyze unit economics, productivity metrics, and cost drivers to improve efficiency and scalability
ā¢ Evaluate ROI on investments, programs, and strategic initiatives to ensure disciplined capital allocation
ā¢ Guide headcount planning, workforce productivity analysis, and operational investment prioritization
ā¢ Build and lead high-performing Operational Finance and Business Analysis teams
ā¢ Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
ā¢ Develop finance talent with strong business acumen, storytelling ability, and executive communication skills
ā¢ Create strong operating rhythms between finance and cross-functional teams to support execution
ā¢ Oversee delivery of actionable analytics and insights that support strategic and operational decision-making
ā¢ Partner with Technology and Product teams to enhance reporting automation, dashboards, and data visualization
ā¢ Ensure alignment across Business Analysis, Operational FP&A, Corporate FP&A, and Accounting to maintain a single source of financial truth
ā¢ Support Sales, Revenue Operations, and functional leaders with insights that drive performance and align incentives with financial goals
Skills
ā¢ 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant operational finance or business unit FP&A leadership
ā¢ Experience in high-growth, complex, and/or private equity-backed environments
ā¢ Proven success partnering with senior executives to drive accountability and business performance
ā¢ Strong background in financial planning systems and tools (e.g., Adaptive, Hyperion, Anaplan, or similar)
ā¢ 7+ years of leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
ā¢ Strategic mindset with strong business and financial acumen
ā¢ Deep understanding of unit economics, cost drivers, and margin optimization
ā¢ Advanced financial modeling and driver-based forecasting expertise
ā¢ Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
ā¢ Executive presence and ability to influence across all levels of the organization
ā¢ Collaborative leadership style that builds trust, engagement, and high performance
ā¢ Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
ā¢ Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
ā¢ Equivalent experience and/or CPA/CFA credentials considered in lieu of advanced degree
