[Remote] Video Editing Freelancer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sightline Media Group is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Video Editor to support the production of their video products for various military publications. The role involves segment editing and potentially show editing, requiring a fast and efficient editor who can meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail. Responsibilities • Take footage from various sources including in-house shoots, wire sources and outside contributors and edit them into segments for our show, •Defense News Weekly•. Segments typically run 3-8 minutes • Meet agreed deadlines on time and with all required elements • Be available for one round of notes and adjustments per video • Maintain all required guidelines for broadcast outputs • Display professional-level command of Adobe Premiere Pro • For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to join Defense News as a show editor. This involves assembling our half-hour news program, •Defense News Weekly•, for delivery to our broadcast affiliates on a week-to-week basis • This opportunity requires a high-level of skill and attention to detail, as well as experience with and knowledge of broadcast standards and practices • Ability to manipulate graphics templates and elements needed • Experience hitting precise timings for broadcast requirements • Defense News Weekly is a half-hour program. It is submitted for captioning every Thursday afternoon Skills • Proven ability in the Adobe Creative suite of products, primarily Premiere Pro • Experience crafting videos from raw footage, with direction from a producer • Speed, efficiency and organization sufficient to achieve deadlines and turnaround times • Experience working without direct supervision, in a remote setting • Background or familiarity with the U.S. military or defense sector is a strong plus • Prior experience working in a broadcast news setting is beneficial Company Overview • MCO is the operational infrastructure of Regent portfolio companies and an integral part of the overall firm’s approach to value creation.
