[Remote] Underwriter- Commercial

They are seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter II responsible for assessing risk, analyzing applications, and maintaining relationships with brokers while contributing to underwriting policy development. Responsibilities Gathering and investigating background information in order to effectively assess risk involved Analyzing and classifying assigned applications to determine acceptability and establishing rates and premiums Negotiating terms and conditions of coverage including pricing on renewals, cancellations, new business and midterm changes Implementing underwriting alternatives based on authority, supporting business and exclusions Developing and maintaining positive relationships with brokers with a commitment to service Responding to inquiries from insurance agents regarding underwriting processes and decisions, interpretation of policy forms and coverage, and premium levels Providing service throughout the policy period, approving routine changes to existing coverage and responding to inquiries from the agent and client Contributing to the evaluation of agency performance and issues Mentoring junior underwriting staff in underwriting theory, technical and soft skill fundamentals.
