RTI International is seeking full-time continuous travel field interviewers for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Study (NHANES). The role involves conducting in-person household interviews and health examinations, collecting high-quality data, and managing administrative duties while traveling extensively throughout the U.S. Responsibilities Being available for continuous travel 48 weeks per year to recruit study participants and staying at project selected accommodations Willing to commit to work for at least one year Making in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation Collecting confidential information and administering standardized questionnaires Conducting in-home interviews, exam reminder calls, and exam reminder visits Recruiting for in-person health exams and dietary phone interviews Independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings Approaching households without a prior appointment Participating in weekly calls with Field Supervisor Transmitting data as scheduled Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project issued equipment Safeguarding any participant incentives, issued equipment, or project materials against damage, loss, or theft Assuming responsibility for and carefully tracking all participant incentives Submitting timely and accurate Time and Expense reports Attending virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team This position involves standing, walking and climbing stairs, and transporting equipment and materials such as laptop computers and notebooks weighing 15 pounds or more This position involves driving for up to 7 hours in a day Skills Must possess High School Diploma or GED Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking Willing to live “on the road” for ~20 continuous weeks (140 days) at a time Ability to read text verbatim from a computer screen (i.e., a laptop and handheld computer) and paper documents Able to work evenings and weekends In order to travel by air, federal law requires individuals have REAL ID or an acceptable alternative. This position may require the successful candidate to travel by air for business reasons.
