Key Responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive coding education programs to enhance accurate, compliant coding practices across our dermatology network.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Coding Education to develop specialized educational resources tailored to dermatology coding standards.
Conduct both on-site and virtual training sessions, ensuring a consistent understanding of coding practices among various dermatology practices.
Maintain compliance with relevant coding standards and payer requirements, conducting assessments to evaluate training effectiveness.
Document training outcomes meticulously and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
Work in partnership with dermatology providers, billing teams, and compliance officers to identify educational needs and operational inefficiencies.
Required Skills
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards specific to dermatology.
Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex information.
Proficiency in digital training platforms and webinar tools.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Capacity to work autonomously and handle multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
In-depth understanding of medical office operations and clinical workflows.
Qualifications
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required, with a preference for CPC-D in Dermatology or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
Certification as a Certified Coding Educator (CDE) or an equivalent credential is favored.
A minimum of five years of medical coding experience, particularly in dermatology, is essential.
Proven track record in developing and delivering educational programs, both in-person and virtually, is necessary.
Experience in traveling to multiple sites for training purposes is highly desirable.
