Job Description Are you a visual storyteller with a passion for bringing narratives to life? CM&A, a leading creative marketing and advertising agency in Zimbabwe, is seeking a talented and imaginative Remote Storyboard Designer to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your artistic vision to a diverse range of exciting projects, from compelling advertisements and engaging digital content to corporate videos and brand campaigns, all from the comfort of your home base in Rusape or anywhere within Zimbabwe. As a Remote Storyboard Designer, you will be instrumental in visualizing concepts and transforming ideas into clear, engaging, and sequential visual narratives. You will collaborate closely with our creative directors, copywriters, and production teams to translate scripts, pitches, and briefs into detailed storyboards that effectively communicate timing, camera angles, character expressions, and overall mood. Your work will serve as the crucial blueprint that guides our production process, ensuring a cohesive and impactful final product. We are looking for someone with a strong grasp of visual composition, an excellent understanding of cinematic language, and the ability to adapt to various artistic styles and project requirements. You should be adept at working independently, managing your time effectively, and maintaining high standards of quality and creativity in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with creative directors, art directors, and writers to understand project requirements and creative vision. • Translate scripts, verbal concepts, and written briefs into clear, dynamic, and sequential storyboards. • Develop character designs, environmental layouts, and prop designs as needed for storyboards. • Iterate and revise storyboards based on feedback from internal teams and clients. • Maintain consistent visual style and quality across all projects. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in storyboarding and animation. • Ensure storyboards accurately convey camera angles, character actions, expressions, and emotional tone. Required Skills • Proficiency in digital storyboarding software (e.g., Storyboarder, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint) • Strong drawing and illustration skills, with an excellent sense of composition, perspective, and anatomy. • Demonstrable understanding of cinematic language, pacing, and visual storytelling principles. • Ability to adapt to various artistic styles and project genres. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration. • Strong time management and organizational abilities. • A portfolio showcasing relevant storyboarding work. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Animation, Film Production, or a related creative field. • Experience with 2D or 3D animation principles. • Knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) for animatics creation. • Experience working in an advertising agency or media production environment. • Ability to create animatics (animated storyboards) to enhance presentations.
