The role involves developing relationships with key customers, identifying new business opportunities, and negotiating contracts while providing tailored logistics solutions. Responsibilities β€’ Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Ecommerce, Omnichannel and Parcel sector β€’ Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets β€’ Utilize knowledge of logistics services to create customized solutions for customers, addressing their specific transportation, warehousing, and supply chain requirements β€’ Support the negotiations of contracts, terms, and conditions with customers to secure profitable and sustainable business agreements β€’ Collaborate with internal teams such as operations, pricing, and logistics experts to ensure seamless execution of services and meet customer expectations β€’ Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth and adapt sales strategies accordingly β€’ Prepare and analyze sales reports, forecasting future sales trends, and reporting on sales activities to management β€’ Ensure that all sales and business development activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements β€’ Educate customers about the company’s logistics services, industry best practices, and relevant technologies to add value to their supply chain operations β€’ Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and provide effective solutions to ensure customer retention and positive referrals β€’ Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential customers and stay updated on industry developments β€’ Continuously improve sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer relationship skills through training and professional development Skills β€’ A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is often preferred β€’ Several years of experience in sales (preferred 10 or more), within the logistics industry β€’ Experience in selling complex logistics solutions, freight services, supply chain management, or related services is highly valuable β€’ In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, transportation, and warehousing are crucial β€’ Familiarity with industry-specific software and technologies is also valuable β€’ Experience in managing customer relationships, understanding their unique requirements, and providing tailored solutions to meet their logistics needs β€’ Strong negotiation skills to effectively close deals, negotiate contracts, and establish mutually beneficial agreements with customers β€’ A deep understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands within the logistics industry β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships, delivering sales presentations, and addressing customer concerns β€’ Ability to analyze complex logistics challenges and provide innovative, practical solutions to customers β€’ Experience working collaboratively with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and logistics experts, to ensure seamless service delivery β€’ Proven ability to network and establish connections within the industry, attend industry events, and represent the company professionally β€’ Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, sales analytics tools, and other relevant sales technologies Company Overview β€’ Orion Solutions Group is a human capital services firm.It was founded in 2012, and is headquartered in Troy, Michigan, USA, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
