[Remote] Sr. GCP Platform Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design and implement technical architecture and software solutions for their core platforms, ensuring high quality and security standards throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities • Set the example in driving individual user stories to completion from start to finish. • Assess and identify risks that may be present to achieving the team’s larger goals. • Document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure construction. • Work in tandem with our platform and software engineering teams and leaders to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company. • Drive implementation of functionally appropriate and technically sound solutions meeting all quality & security standards. • Assist the team in achieving ambitious goals, providing regular feedback, and driving continuous improvement. • Participate in all aspects of our software development lifecycle for cloud-based solutions, including planning, defining requirements, developing, testing, and deploying those solutions with the team. Skills • 5+ years creating and managing infrastructure in GCP using modern Cloud Engineering practices • Proven track record for delivering fit for purpose technical solutions that balance complexity, performance, and maintainability. • Balanced approach that integrates software engineering principles with modern infrastructure operations. • Methodical, self-directed approach to diagnosing and resolving GCP platform issues. • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. • Deep experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD best practices, with a strong understanding of Git patterns such as GitFlow and trunk-based development; monorepo vs. polyrepo strategies; and workflows including code reviews, automated testing, and security automation. • Extensive experience managing GCP Organizations, Projects, Networking Components, and cloud-native services. • Hands-on experience creating containerized solutions leveraging Docker/Kubernetes/Cloud Run/etc. • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, shift-left methodologies, and DevSecOps processes. • Comfortable in using and integrating AI tools into enterprise software development pipelines. • Proficient in infrastructure automation and scripting tools such as Terraform, gcloud CLI, Python, bash, curl, Powershell, Go, etc. • Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines within GitHub/GitLab/Azure DevOps for Infrastructure/Application deployments in GCP • Experience configuring least-privilege GCP IAM roles, Deny Assignments, Organization Policy, VPC Service Controls, etc. • Experience in managing GCP services such as VPC, Subnets, Storage Buckets, Cloud Run, VM Instances, Load Balancers, Firewall Policy & Rules, Pub/Sub, etc. • Experience using containerization technologies such as Docker, GKE, Cloud Run, App Engine, etc. • Solid foundational skills with Networking, Windows, and Linux • Familiarity with Cloud Security, Compliance, and Policy Management tools such as Prisma Cloud, Checkov, Cloud Custodian, Open Policy Agent, etc. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience • 5+ years of directly related experience • Experience working within a highly regulated industry such as Financial Services or Healthcare preferred.
