Job Overview As a Remote Special Education Teacher with our organization, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of students with diverse learning challenges. You'll work collaboratively with families, educators, and other specialists to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in a virtual setting. Key Responsibilities Create and manage individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support they require to succeed. Deliver high-quality virtual instruction and facilitate engaging learning activities that promote academic, social, and emotional growth. Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies to optimize learning outcomes, ensuring our students stay on track to meet their goals. Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance, progress, and support needs, keeping them informed and involved throughout the educational process. Collaborate with other educators and specialists to coordinate services and support for students, fostering a cohesive and comprehensive approach to special education. Stay informed on best practices and innovations in special education and online learning, continually updating your skills and knowledge to provide the most effective support for our students. Qualifications & Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field ; a Master's degree is preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in special education principles and practices. Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching license , ensuring you're certified to provide high-quality special education services in the state. Experience working with students with various disabilities and learning challenges , equipping you with the skills and empathy needed to support diverse student needs. Familiarity with virtual teaching tools and platforms , enabling you to effectively deliver instruction and support in a remote setting. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills , allowing you to manage multiple responsibilities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and adapt to changing situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team , demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative mindset in a hybrid work environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with IEP development and implementation, showcasing your ability to create and manage effective individualized education programs. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, highlighting your capacity to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs.
