Job Summary As a Remote Special Education Teacher with Colorado Schools, you'll play a vital role in delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. You'll work on a part-time basis, providing virtual instruction and support to students, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with other educators, support staff, and parents to drive student success. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' unique needs and goals, adapting teaching methods and materials as necessary. Provide high-quality, specialized instruction in accordance with IEPs, promoting students' social, emotional, and academic growth. Create a supportive and inclusive virtual classroom environment that fosters engagement, motivation, and a love of learning. Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions, driving student progress and achievement. Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed to ensure students meet their goals. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance and progress, ensuring compliance with special education laws and regulations. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input on students' goals and progress, and contributing to the development of effective education plans. Stay updated on the latest research, best practices, and legal requirements in special education, continually enhancing your skills and knowledge to drive student success. Qualifications and Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction and support. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, with a commitment to staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the field. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a virtual or remote teaching environment, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by online instruction. Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms to deliver instruction, engage students, and facilitate communication with colleagues and parents. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students in a virtual environment. Skills and Competencies Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs. Ability to create and implement effective instructional strategies and interventions, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
