They are seeking a Software Engineer Intern for the 2025 summer internship, where the intern will design and develop resource scheduling and optimize computing resources for machine learning systems. Responsibilities Design and development of resource scheduling, including model training, model evaluation and model inference in various scenarios (LLM/AIGC/NLP/CV/Speech, etc.) Optimize orchestration of various computing resources (GPU, CPU, other heterogeneous hardware), realizing the rational use of stable resources, tidal resources, mixed resources, and multi-cloud resources Optimize combination of computing resources, RDMA high-speed network resources, and storage resources, and giving full play to the power of large-scale distributed clusters Support offline and online workload scheduling in global data centers integrating multi-cloud scenarios to achieve rational distributions Skills Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline Familiar with machine learning algorithms and platforms Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during summer 2025 Published papers at top conferences Familiar with Go/Python/Shell in Linux environment Familiar with at least one deep learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, or other) Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner Good communication and teamwork skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with other teammates Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship Benefits Day one access to health insurance Life insurance Wellbeing benefits 10 paid holidays per year Paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year) Housing allowance Company Overview ByteDance is a technology company that develops content creation platforms and services.
