[Remote] Software Engineer, Backend (Platform - Core Automation)

This role involves developing AI infrastructure and automation solutions to enhance productivity and streamline operations for customer support and compliance teams while delivering exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities • Explore and apply advanced GenAI techniques, including large language models (LLMs) and Agentic AI, to solve complex challenges across the organization • Lead project execution by managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, leveraging your technical expertise • Write high-quality, well-tested code in Python and Golang to address critical product and business needs • Architect scalable, secure systems using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices • Mentor team members on design principles, coding standards, and AI productivity tools adoption • Debug complex technical issues to enhance system reliability, scalability, and ease of operation • Review and ensure the security, scalability, and architectural integrity of feature designs across teams • Build pipelines to integrate with third-party vendors and streamline workflows Skills • 3+ years of experience in software engineering • Proven expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, with a strong understanding of micro-services architecture • Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs • Deep understanding of what high-quality code and software engineering processes look like, and the ability to foster an environment that promotes them • Strong technical skills in system design and coding • Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a preference for open and transparent cultural practices • Experience navigating rapid company growth (e.g., from startup to mid-size) • Familiarity with GenAI frameworks/tools, Python, GoLang, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB • Background in AI/LLM infrastructure is a strong plus Benefits • Bonus eligibility • Equity eligibility • Benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)) Company Overview • Coinbase is a crypto exchange and wallet platform that allows merchants and consumers to buy, sell, and store digital currencies.
