[Remote] Software Engineer, Backend

As a Software Engineer, Backend, you will develop and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs, ensuring high-quality code and contributing to the overall improvement of services for customers and internal teams.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs that drive our web applications and automationDevelop and maintain production code for quality and performance; ensure code is clear and well testedDevelop and maintain integrations with services such as AWS, Okta, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and New RelicParticipate in software delivery processes such as refining work scope, estimating effort, code reviewing, testing, maintenance and recommending operational improvementsPromote, contribute and maintain clear and concise documentation on our code baseCollaborate with senior engineers to implement improvements to design and processesCollaborate with other teams to advise on technical feasibility of feature requirementsIdentify and enforce information security controls and best practices in Mission’s production environmentsParticipate in occasional on-call rotations; one week per quarterSupport internal Mission teams by providing technical and operational guidance for systems and tools managed by the Product Development teamSkillsProfessional experience or equivalent in designing and developing web applications using PythonProficiency with REST and GraphQL API developmentFamiliarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearchExperience in writing unit and integration tests in PythonExperience managing CI/CD deployments in tools like Gitlab within a Kubernetes/EKS environmentExperience developing and deploying software in the AWS ecosystemStrong teamwork and communication skills, capable of conveying technical needs to engineering and non-engineering teamsAWS Cloud Practitioner OR PCAP to be achieved within one year of hireCompany OverviewMission Cloud, a CDW Company, is a leading born-in-the-cloud managed services and consulting provider, offering end-to-end cloud services, innovative AI solutions, and software for AWS customers.
