[Remote] SIAM SIEM Consultant

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a SIAM SIEM Consultant to support a leading cybersecurity organization specializing in secure and resilient technology systems. The specialist will serve as the SIEM Subject Matter Expert (SME) within a team focused on SOAR, SIEM, and EDR solutions, leading configuration and implementation efforts while driving cost optimization and enhancing detection and response capabilities. Responsibilities • Lead SIEM configuration, integration, and implementation efforts across enterprise environments • Drive SIEM cost optimization strategies through data tiering, filtering, and rule standardization while maintaining detection fidelity • Implement rigorous change control processes (testing, rollback plans, documentation) to ensure reliable delivery and client trust • Collaborate with SOC and Incident Response teams to enhance detection and response capabilities • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python for security workflows • Ensure alignment with MITRE attack framework and best practices for threat detection Skills • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on SIEM technologies • Ability to translate technical SIEM improvements into measurable business outcomes (cost reduction, compliance ROI, risk mitigation) • Experience with multiple SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, Exabeam, Sumo Logic) and ability to standardize and scale solutions across diverse environments • Strong proficiency in Python scripting and Linux command-line operations • Experience in cybersecurity consulting and knowledge of SOC/IR processes + MITRE attack frameworks Benefits • Cigna Medical • Dental • Vision • 401k Plan • PTO • Holidays • Sick Leave if required by law Company Overview • Zachary Piper Solutions is an IT company providing government contracting solutions in support of the nation’s Intelligence Community.
