[Remote] Senior Valuation Consultant

MBO Partners is seeking a Senior Valuation Consultant to support audit and advisory teams by performing valuation reviews across a wide range of asset classes. This role offers flexibility and diverse project exposure while ensuring high-quality financial reporting and enhancing audit quality. Responsibilities • Review valuations of private and public companies, financial instruments, structured products, and tangible/intangible assets • Evaluate valuation approaches such as discounted cash flow (DCF), market-based methods, option pricing models, and specialty asset valuations • Assess the reasonableness of assumptions, inputs, market data, and methodologies used in client or third-party valuation reports • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or unsupported conclusions within valuation workpapers • Prepare clear, concise review notes or full audit-ready documentation summarizing findings and considerations • Support audit teams by performing fair value testing and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (primarily ASC 820) • Communicate technical insights to audit managers, engagement teams, and valuation leaders • Manage multiple reviews concurrently and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines Skills • Prior valuation experience at a Big 4 firm, mid-tier accounting firm, or major valuation boutique • Experience at the Manager, Senior Manager, Director, or SMD level • Hands-on expertise in at least one valuation discipline: Business Valuation, Complex Financial Instruments, Structured Products, Real Property, or Personal Property • Strong ability to assess valuation methodologies, assumptions, and inputs • Familiarity with fair value measurement requirements, including ASC 820 • Proven ability to deliver clear, concise valuation documentation • Comfort working independently and managing multiple reviews concurrently • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required • Experience reviewing valuations specifically as part of the audit process Company Overview • MBO Partners has the industry’s only complete business operating system for independent workers.
