[Remote] Senior Software Engineer- Remote USA
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Integral Ad Science (IAS) is a leading global media measurement and optimization platform. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Engineering team, focusing on building and maintaining Java-based applications and RESTful APIs for their core Signal platform, while driving the transition towards cloud-native applications.
Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, and maintain Java-based applications and RESTful APIs that power IASβs core Signal platform β including UI integration where needed to support new capabilities
β’ Scale applications and architectures to handle billions of transactions and records efficiently and reliably
β’ Lead the entire software lifecycle β from design and hands-on coding to testing, deployment, and observability
β’ Build and deploy cloud-native applications leveraging AWS (or equivalent cloud platforms like GCP/Azure)
β’ Collaborate closely with product and data teams to embed new capabilities and signal intelligence into our applications
β’ Work on backend systems and, optionally, data pipelines (Python experience a plus)
Skills
β’ 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience
β’ Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot
β’ Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and how to design, deploy, and operate scalable cloud-based applications
β’ Knowledge of core AWS services (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, EKS) or equivalent GCP/Azure components
β’ Strong grasp of designing for performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
β’ Exposure to frontend technologies (e.g., React) for UI integration or collaboration with UI engineering teams
β’ Experience building API backend services and integrating with distributed systems
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
β’ Experience with Python, especially for data pipelines or automation
β’ Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, or Delta tables
β’ Knowledge of SQL and database fundamentals
β’ Experience with messaging or streaming frameworks (Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, etc.)
β’ Understanding of Linux command line tools and DevOps concepts
