[Remote] Senior QuickBooks Bookkeeper (Client-Facing) – U.S. Based Only
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. INVESTOR FRIENDLY CPA® is seeking a U.S.-based Senior QuickBooks Bookkeeper with extensive experience in bookkeeping. In this client-facing role, you will oversee financial accuracy and ensure that QuickBooks records align with tax returns while communicating directly with clients regarding their bookkeeping needs.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned U.S. clients
• Communicate directly with clients regarding bookkeeping matters, corrections, and financial reports
• Ensure financial statements are accurate and ready for client review
• Present financial insights when needed
• Perform complex QuickBooks cleanup projects
• Identify and correct historical bookkeeping errors
• Rebuild or restructure books when prior accounting is incomplete or inaccurate
• Resolve discrepancies in bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and equity accounts
• Work closely with the tax team to ensure financial records match filed tax returns
• Reconcile QuickBooks balance sheets and equity accounts with the prior-year tax return
• Identify discrepancies between bookkeeping records and tax filings
• Adjust books appropriately so that financials align with tax reporting
• Reviewing prior-year tax returns
• Reconciling beginning balances to the tax return
• Correcting balance sheet accounts before starting monthly bookkeeping
• Review bookkeeping work prepared by an internal support team
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
• Approve financials before they are delivered to the client
• Maintain high quality control standards
• Oversee and validate reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, loans and liabilities, equity accounts, payroll liabilities, and intercompany accounts
• Prepare or review Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, supporting schedules for tax preparation, and financial reports for client decision-making
• Coordinate with an internal team of 20+ preparers and reviewers
• Provide guidance on corrections or cleanup tasks
• Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
Skills
• Must be located in the United States
• 5+ years of QuickBooks experience
• Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online
• Significant experience performing bookkeeping cleanup projects
• Experience reconciling QuickBooks financials with tax returns
• Strong understanding of: Balance sheet accounts, Account reconciliations, Chart of accounts structure, Financial statement accuracy
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients
• High attention to detail and strong diagnostic skills
• Accounting degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working within a CPA or tax firm environment
• Experience reviewing work from remote bookkeeping teams
• Familiarity with preparing books for tax preparation
