[Remote] Senior QA Automation Engineer (Java / Playwright) | EU

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Xebia is a global tech company that started its journey in Central and Eastern Europe with two Polish companies. They are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to focus on large-scale backend test automation, building and maintaining automated test frameworks using Java and Playwright, with a strong emphasis on API and backend validation.

Responsibilities
• Designing and developing automation frameworks (Java / Playwright)
• Creating and maintaining backend/API automated tests (e.g. RestAssured or similar)
• Preparing and structuring test scenarios and test cases
• Executing API tests using Postman
• Integrating tests with CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins)
• Performing performance testing activities
• Reviewing automation solutions and ensuring best practices
• Mentoring junior testers and supporting knowledge sharing within the team

Skills
• 5+ years of experience in test automation
• Strong experience with Java and/or Playwright
• Solid background in backend test automation
• Experience with CI/CD (preferably Jenkins)
• Knowledge of SQL and performance testing techniques
• Good understanding of SDLC
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, XPath
• Fluent English (min. B2)
• Independent, analytical, and proactive approach
• High level of ownership and accountability for delivered solutions
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required
• Candidates must have an active VAT status in the EU VIES registry
