[Remote] Senior Power BI Developer (1099 - 6 month contract)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Premier Truck Rental (PTR) is a family-owned company providing customized commercial fleet rentals nationwide. The Senior Power BI Developer will lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced Power BI solutions, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting initiatives. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards, semantic data models, and datasets using Azure SQL in the current environment • Apply advanced DAX calculations and modeling techniques to deliver complex reporting requirements • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), data governance standards, and visualization best practices • Troubleshoot and resolve dashboard performance issues, tune queries and datasets for scalability and responsiveness • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into actionable, high-quality Power BI solutions • Maintain documentation, version control (Git, Azure DevOps), and structured handoff materials for internal use • Facilitate knowledge transfer and mentoring sessions with internal team members to build Power BI and DAX capability • Ensure adherence to governance frameworks for accuracy, integrity, and security of BI deliverables • Support the timely delivery of executive and operational dashboards aligned to business priorities Skills • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent professional experience • 5+ years of professional Power BI development experience in enterprise environments • Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and relational/dimensional data modeling • Strong experience working with Azure SQL, including performance-tuned queries and optimized data integration • Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade dashboards with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and governance • Experience implementing and maintaining Row-Level Security (RLS) and BI governance practices • High attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior BI developers and contributing to team skill development • Familiarity with Agile BI development and cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams • Knowledge of performance tuning for large-scale enterprise BI systems • Skilled with scripting languages (Python, R) for data automation and advanced analytics Benefits • Wellness & Fitness: Take advantage of our on-site CrossFit-style gym, featuring a full-time personal trainer dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals.
