Key Responsibilities Review functional requirements and create technical design documents to drive project success Transform software designs and specifications into secure, high-functioning code in JAVA and document solutions Integrate individual software solutions to applicable systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime Test code periodically to ensure it produces desirable results and perform debugging when necessary Perform upgrades to make software and systems more secure and efficient, staying ahead of emerging threats and technologies Communicate and incorporate business owner's visions, business plans, and key objectives into project deliverables Provide updates as required for leadership, ensuring transparency and stakeholder satisfaction Provide development and related operations, maintenance, and production support to ensure project continuity Foster a culture that supports and drives staff engagement and collaboration in support of state objectives Establish, manage, and leverage business and technology relationships both internal and external to drive project success Provide knowledge transfer to junior team members, ensuring skill development and succession planning Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: Seven (7) years of experience in JAVA Programming/Development role, with a strong foundation in JAVA development principles and practices A Bachelor's degree (4-year) or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology, or an Associate's degree (2-year) with equivalent experience Four (4) years of experience working with state government health insurance systems on insurance benefit enrollments, with a deep understanding of the industry and its complexities Five (5) years of experience developing in JAVA using Spring MVC, with a strong proficiency in JAVA development frameworks Two (2) years of IBM Integration Bus (IIB) experience, with a solid understanding of integration layer technologies One (1) year of IBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise) experience, with a good understanding of integration layer technologies and their applications Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Three (3) years of StreamEDS experience, with a good understanding of data processing and integration One (1) year of Drools experience, with a solid understanding of business rules management systems Computer Science or Information Technology degree, with a strong foundation in computer science principles Proven experience and demonstrated proficiency in analysis and development/programming using: WebSphere application server JPA/Hibernate Maven XML Junit, Jquery, and AJax Java Script Spring Boot Oracle database and writing SQL statements in Oracle SOAP/REST Web services Four (4) years of experience with full-stack JAVA development, with a strong understanding of JAVA development principles and practices Engagement working with state agency ACA health care systems, including creation of and transmission of ACA-related tax information to IRS and annual tax forms to consumers Four (4) years of experience with transactional systems, with a good understanding of financial systems and their complexities Four (4) years of experience providing operations work and production support, including support and resolution of escalated customer issues Skills and Competencies Required for Success To succeed in this role, you will need to possess: Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently and in team settings, with a collaborative mindset and strong teamwork skills An analytical mindset and critical thinking, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues A passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in JAVA development and integration layer technologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a Remote Senior JAVA Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects that will help you grow professionally and technically.
