[Remote] Senior Financial Analyst 6-Month Contract
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RTI International is an independent, scientific research institute dedicated to improving the human condition. They are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a six-month contract role to manage the financial aspects of research projects, perform financial analyses, and provide guidance to project leaders.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Perform on-going project financial analysis; including ability to conduct profitability analysis, forecast costs, and analyze variances and fee deviations
ā¢ Perform on-going project review including; review of actual costs for proper charging and accuracy, review invoices, and support processing payment approvals
ā¢ Perform revenue recognition review on a monthly basis, identify root causes of deviation, and provide remedial measures
ā¢ Ensure that all projects are reviewed on monthly basis and summarization of financial condition of project is communicated to project leaders
ā¢ Provide effective guidance to project leader and team management regarding potential changes in statement of work requiring revised budgets
ā¢ Prepare monthly progress reports including project forecasts and resource projections for client
ā¢ Support preparation of continuation applications/carry over fund budgets; prepare add-on budgets
ā¢ Review initial project authorizations and project setup for accuracy, review/solicit guidance for understanding of relevant terms and conditions applicable to contract
ā¢ Lead assigned process improvement initiatives with high degree of responsibility
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 6+ years of experience or Master's degree with one year of relevant experience
ā¢ Relevant experience is defined as financial analysis work
ā¢ Understanding of indirect rates
ā¢ Working knowledge of various contract types
ā¢ Ability to handle ambiguity in business modeling
ā¢ Trusted partner to the management team, not a task-taker
ā¢ Experience working in a matrixed organization
ā¢ Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, advanced working knowledge of Excel
ā¢ Ability to obtain proper security clearances as noted by contracts
ā¢ Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa sponsorship
ā¢ Knowledge of US Government contractors, the Federal Acquisition Regulations, and Oracle for project reporting and billing functions
ā¢ Ability to learn new systems and familiarity with accounting systems
