Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Stone Search, LLC is seeking a Senior Carrier Network Engineer to architect, implement, and support high-performance networks. The role involves hands-on engineering and troubleshooting across various technologies, working closely with sales teams and customers to develop solutions that meet business needs. Responsibilities • Architect, implement, and support high-performance networks across core, edge, and DCI architectures using multi-vendor routing and optical platforms • Provide expert hands-on engineering and troubleshooting across technologies including: • Routing: Cisco ASR/NCS, Arista R-series, Nokia 7750, Juniper MX/PTX • Optical: Ciena Waveserver/6500, Cisco NCS/Acacia, Nokia 1830, Infinera • Work with sales teams, solution architects, and customers to define technical requirements and create solutions aligned with business needs and industry best practices • Lead POCs, lab testing, and both on-site and remote deployments for complex infrastructure projects • Partner with OEMs to resolve escalations and stay current on platform features and roadmaps • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to documentation, internal knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices • Support automation and telemetry initiatives using technologies such as NETCONF, YANG, gRPC, Ansible, and Python • Contribute to solution development in areas including DCI, transport/backbone, Segment Routing, EVPN, and IP/Optical integration • Lead engineering teams on professional services engagements • Maintain advanced vendor-specific certifications • Deliver customer service consistent with company standards • Participate in after-hours support and on-call responsibilities Skills • US Citizens or GC Holders • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in carrier-grade or large enterprise network environments • Deep technical expertise across Cisco, Ciena, Arista, Nokia, and/or Juniper platforms • Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS technologies, including BGP, OSPF/ISIS, Segment Routing, QoS, and optical transport systems (DWDM/ROADM, coherent optics, alien wavelengths) • Advanced troubleshooting capability across multi-vendor routing and optical platforms (Cisco ASR/NCS, Arista R-series, Nokia 7750, Juniper MX/PTX, Ciena Waveserver/6500, Cisco NCS/Acacia, Nokia 1830, Infinera) • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred • Cisco CCNP (R&S or Service Provider) • Juniper JNCIP / Nokia NRS / Ciena Optical Professional • Arista ACE / NSE or equivalent OEM certifications • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and interface effectively with customers and internal teams • Experience with automation or scripting (Python, Ansible) highly desirable • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and multiple concurrent initiatives • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities • Commitment to continuous learning and developing expertise in emerging technologies • Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on collective success Company Overview • STONE SEARCH is a boutique Executive Search firm specializing in the placement of seasoned professionals within the internetworking/intranetworking fields of technology in both full time and consulting engagements.
