The Role: Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher We're seeking an experienced and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in delivering high-quality online instruction to secondary students. As a Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher, you'll play a critical role in supporting students with diverse needs, leveraging technology to create engaging and personalized learning experiences. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students while working in a flexible, remote environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalized and engaging instruction to special education students, using a range of digital tools and strategies to support their learning needs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through regular communication, using phone, email, chat, and video conferencing. Evaluate student needs and prior written history to determine and implement appropriate accommodations, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Provide ongoing monitoring of student progress, intervening as needed to address gaps and deliver remediation. Collaborate with peers and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in company events, activities, and meetings, contributing to a positive and inclusive company culture. Proctor student assessments, including traveling to testing locations as required. Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education. A current Special Education Teaching License and teacher certification. At least three years of experience teaching special education, with a proven track record of supporting students with diverse needs. Extensive experience writing and implementing IEPs and holding IEP meetings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues. Proficiency in using digital tools, including Google Apps for Education and learning management systems. The ability to work independently, with a high degree of self-motivation and organization. A willingness to travel to testing locations as required (for Arizona and Colorado candidates). Preferred Qualifications At least two years of online teaching experience. Experience working in a remote or virtual environment. Ability to obtain teaching certification in Arizona, Colorado, and Washington.
