Remote Seasonal Tax Preparer/Reviewer
We’re looking for an experienced tax preparer/reviewer to join Elite Tax & Accounting. Most of our clients are small business owners and real estate professionals, so you’ll spend your time on real work that actually helps people instead of grinding out cookie-cutter returns.
The role is hands-on: you’ll prepare and review individual and business returns (1040, Schedule C, Schedule E, 1065, 1120-S), spot issues before they become problems, and communicate directly with clients to request missing info and explain results in plain English. You’ll also review work prepared by others on the team, clean up messy prior-year situations, and help with basic tax planning during tax season.
You should be comfortable working in tax software and QuickBooks, reading financial statements, and tying numbers back to source documents. Prior experience as a tax preparer with small business and rental/real estate clients is important. A CPA, EA, or significant equivalent experience is preferred, but I care more about your actual skills, accuracy, and ability to think through a return than letters after your name.
We’re a small, busy firm, so this is a good fit for someone who likes autonomy, moves quickly, owns their work, and can manage a tax season workload without drama. You should be the kind of person who double-checks your numbers, asks questions when something doesn’t look right, and can explain tax concepts to clients without jargon.
This position is seasonal, remote with flexibility. Compensation is competitive and depends on experience.
