Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Remote Public Relations Outreach Manager to join our communications team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in enhancing TelOne's brand visibility, reputation, and engagement with key stakeholders across various platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic PR campaigns, fostering strong media relationships, and identifying new opportunities for brand exposure and thought leadership. Working remotely from Buhera, you will leverage your expertise to craft compelling narratives, manage crises effectively, and ensure consistent brand messaging aligned with TelOne's objectives. This role demands a proactive approach, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of both traditional and digital PR landscapes within the Zimbabwean context. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and executive leadership, to ensure our outreach efforts are integrated and impactful. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement comprehensive remote public relations strategies and campaigns aligned with TelOne's business goals and brand identity. • Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and key influencers across Zimbabwe and regionally. • Draft compelling press releases, media advisories, pitches, speeches, articles, and other PR materials that effectively communicate TelOne's message. • Identify and secure media opportunities, including interviews, feature stories, and speaking engagements for TelOne executives and subject matter experts. • Monitor media coverage, analyze PR campaign effectiveness, and prepare reports on PR outcomes and ROI. • Manage and respond to media inquiries, public feedback, and potential crisis situations in a timely and professional manner, ensuring brand reputation is protected. • Collaborate with marketing and internal communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels. • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive activities, and best practices in public relations and digital outreach. Required Skills • Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English and Shona/Ndebele. • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful PR strategies and campaigns. • Strong network of media contacts within Zimbabwe. • Proficiency in social media management for PR purposes. • Crisis communication and reputation management expertise. • Excellent organizational and project management skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. • Experience working within the telecommunications industry or a related technology sector. • Demonstrated ability to create engaging multimedia content for PR (e.g., videos, infographics). • Familiarity with PR measurement tools and analytics platforms. • A track record of securing high-impact media placements.
