Location: Remote from Latin America
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $1,700 - 2,000 USD/month paid via Wise
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Central Time

We're hiring a dedicated, experienced Bookkeeper to maintain financial clarity across our operations. This is a full-time, high-ownership role responsible for daily financial upkeep, monthly reconciliations, and collaboration with our broader team to keep all financial systems aligned, accurate, and audit-ready.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers for multiple properties.
• Process accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) including rent collection, vendor payments, and owner distributions.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for ownership and property managers.
• Generate and send invoices, late notices, and tenant statements.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and year-end financial statements.
• Handle property tax payments and monitor insurance renewals and payments.
• Work with external accountants on tax filings and audits as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations related to financial reporting for property management.
• Maintain organized financial records in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies:
5+ years of real estate bookkeeping experience (property management or construction preferred)
• Strong command of QuickBooks Online and AppFolio or Buildium
• Solid working knowledge of accrual and cash accounting principles
• High fluency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and documentation standards
• Track record of managing books for multi-LLC or multi-entity real estate portfolios
• Clear communicator with sharp follow-up and a builder's mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA, EA, or similar credential
• Experience in Section 8 or affordable housing operations
• Background in collaborative workflows with finance, operations, and project teams
• Experience preparing reports for outside CPAs, lenders, or investors
