Remote Project Metadata Archivist
Archives Assistant - Tusk Strategies Apply to the Archives Assistant role with Tusk Strategies , a contract entity serving the Metropolitan New York Library Council . Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - remote or on‑site as needed). Employment: Part‑time, temporary (15‑20 hrs per week). Compensation: $37.50 per hour. Temporary Archives Assistant assisting the Senior Archivist on an ongoing corporate archiving project for an India‑based client. This role involves research, interviews, reports, recommendations, and various project‑related tasks as assigned. Edit and/or write reports. Direct and liaise with the on‑ground archiving team. Assist with client needs including developing workflows, processing plans, digital library system selection requirements, metadata schema, cataloguing guidelines, and narrative or curatorial projects. Experience with metadata schema, cataloguing, and controlled vocabularies. Experience working with a CMS, DAM, or digital preservation system. Strong research, writing, and communication skills. Previous experience working on client projects is a plus. Knowledge of Indian languages and/or culture is a plus. Must be able to dedicate at least 6 months to the position and be flexible to work remotely or hybrid as needed. This temporary position pays $37.50 per hour and requires a minimum commitment of six months. Work hours are flexible between 9 am and 6 pm ET, Monday‑Friday.
