What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
 Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, using modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques
 Instruct and guide patients through functional activities, including bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities
 Observe and follow treatment precautions, reporting any changes in patient responses to the appropriate medical staff
 Document daily patient interventions and services provided in the acute care setting
 Educate and train patients and caregivers, assessing their learning style preferences and responses
What Is Required (Qualifications)
 Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice
 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
 Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
 Minimum of two years' technical experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
 High School Education/GED or equivalent
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
 Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
 Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
