As an Distribution Center Associate, your role is vital in assisting customers in finding the necessary items to enhance their homes. You'll be responsible for upholding the store's cleanliness, organization, and ensuring that product availability remains fully stocked. Your exceptional customer service will undoubtedly make for a standout shopping experience for all.
The Distribution Center Associate Position focuses on effectively delivering appropriate products to customers by unloading incoming freight, transporting it to the sales floor, and restocking relevant sections. This role encompasses handling hazardous materials, managing damaged shelves, overseeing backroom arrangements, and ensuring equipment is charged. Furthermore, it requires organizing merchandise and top stock in ways that optimize stores for successful sales. Additionally, employees must be prepared to handle the physical demands involved with moving merchandise for the majority of the shift.
Travel is not a mandatory aspect of this job, but there may be situations where travel is necessary. These situations could include meetings, trainings, or offering support to other stores in the area.
Responsibilities:
 Unload trucks.
 Rearrange items in the storage area.
 Ensure secure placement of products on store shelves.
 Keep the walkways tidy, arranged, and hazard-free.
 Greet customers, vendors, and associates with a cheery expression and a can-do demeanor.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include:
 Basic mathematical operations of addition and subtraction, reading, and writing are skills you possess.
Preferred qualifications include:
 If you have experience working in hospitality or other warehouse jobs and you're looking for a new career, retail may be an excellent choice.
 An individual with a minimum of three months of experience is required to operate a forklift or any related machinery.
 In a warehouse setting, I have gained six months of valuable experience in handling inventory and restocking duties.
