About the Role: Remote Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization Specialist As a Remote Pharmacy Technician with our team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care by coordinating prior authorizations, handling patient and physician communications, and performing various pharmacy functions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that demands strong technical skills, pharmacology knowledge, and exceptional customer service abilities. Key Responsibilities: Make outbound calls and respond to inbound calls from patients, providers, and other stakeholders, providing professional assistance and resolving queries in a timely manner. Enter patient and prescription information into our system accurately and efficiently. Fax physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes as needed. Resolve and enter incomplete prescriptions after obtaining necessary clarifications. Complete patient letters and other documentation as required. Perform other pharmacy functions as needed to support workflow and development. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all approvals and denials. Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to pharmacists for review. Essential Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician in an administrative support function. National pharmacy technician certification. Eligible for state registration, certification, or licensure per state regulations ( MUST have a state license ). Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet utilization. Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal). Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service position, preferably in a high-volume call center environment within healthcare, social services, or a similar field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a prior authorization role or similar environment. Familiarity with pharmacy software and technology platforms.
