As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform a variety of clinical pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of our VP of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative and clerical support, assisting with daily operations, participating in audits, and making outbound calls to members, prescribers, and pharmacies. You'll also interact with our contracted Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) to resolve prescription issues and ensure compliance with CMS requirements.
About the Role:
Assist with daily operations of Pharmacy Department programs
Make high-volume outbound calls to members, prescribers, and pharmacies regarding the Adherence program
Assist members with refilling medications and reaching out to prescriber's offices for additional refills
Draft routine reports and correspondence
Support CMS required oversight processes of PBM, including rebates and Explanation of Benefit reports
Respond to inquiries from physicians, members, and pharmacies related to formulary and prescription benefits
Retrieve accurate and timely drug information
Interact with Plan's contracted PBM to ensure effective communication and information sharing
Resolve prescription issues, such as Prior Authorizations and third-party rejections
Work closely with the compliance department to ensure Pharmacy Programs meet CMS criteria
Maintain confidentiality of HMO members' information according to HIPAA
Requirements:
Pharmacy Technician license and/or certification preferred
1-3 years of related experience, with a minimum of one year in generating healthcare pharmacy reports and analysis
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word) and related/integrated systems
Knowledge of Medicare/Managed Care Plans and/or PBM preferred
Excellent verbal and phone communication skills (customer service)
Knowledge of pharmacy and medical nomenclature/terminology, common medication dosages, trade & generics, and medication therapy application
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and collect data for statistical reporting
Ability to multi-task with minimal direction and carry out instructions
Nice-to-Haves:
Bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Chinese (Mandarin), or English/Vietnamese strongly preferred
