Remote Pharmacist (3:30PM - 12:00AM EST)
About the position Responsibilities • Serve as a point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers to address medication-related problems and inquiries. • Explain care plan options and medication use, side effects, and contraindications to patients and their families. • Document patient care decisions and actions using proprietary software. • Ensure accurate and compliant medication distribution and fulfillment for patients. • Plan and maintain procedures for assessing, compounding, packaging, and labeling medications according to policy and legal requirements. • Oversee Pharmacy Technicians in medication reconciliation, order entry, inventory management, and compliance with policies and regulations. • Review, prepare, and approve prescription orders ensuring accuracy in drug, dosage, and patient information. • Provide timely pharmaceutical care and make recommendations to enhance patient outcomes and safety. • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and internal policies regarding pharmacy practice. Requirements • BS in Pharmacy; PharmD preferred. • Current, active license in NJ or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. • 2+ years of experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging, with exposure to geriatrics and/or chronic care management. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. • Technical skills to navigate proprietary pharmacy software and propose operational improvements. • Experience in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management. • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment, with the ability to identify and rectify medication-related problems. • Knowledge of state and federal laws, including HIPAA and regulations regarding Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.
