The Patient Access Specialist ensures a positive experience for patients by managing communications, verifying insurance details, and providing education on payment options.ResponsibilitiesManage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and courtesyVerify patient eligibility and insurance benefits using online tools or by contacting insurers directlyEducate patients about their insurance coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and available options for financial assistanceAdminister financial assistance programsSubmit and manage prior authorization cases, ensuring timely follow-up and resolutionAccurately document all interactions and follow-up activities in the billing systemObtain and manage all necessary documentation, collaborating with internal revenue cycle and customer success teamsBuild positive relationships with patients and stakeholders to resolve issues effectivelySupport additional duties, special projects, or process improvement initiatives as neededSkillsAssociates degree required1-3 years experience relevant healthcare experienceStrong knowledge of medical benefits, insurance policies, coordination of benefits (COB), prior authorization workflows, and payer requirements for reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurancesCustomer-focused approach with the ability to handle high-pressure situationsExceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsFlexibility to adapt to new tools, processes, and team dynamicsFluency in SpanishExperience in a start-up environmentBenefits401k matchingUnlimited paid time off (PTO)And moreCompany OverviewOur AI can prognosticate patient outcomes & personalize treatment in localized prostate cancer.
