[Remote] OSP Inspector

The OSP Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of outside plant infrastructure by inspecting facilities and validating contractor work against industry standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform field inspections, audits, and corrections verification for OSP facilities, including:Aerial plantUnderground and buried plantConduct wooden pole ground-line inspections and assess pole conditions for compliance with standardsVerify contractor work complies with OSP Construction Standards and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirementsDocument inspections, audits, and pole transfers electronically, including:Inspection findingsRequired correctionsCompliance verificationPerform documentation manually using printed spreadsheets when requiredUtilize mapping and GPS tools to locate, track, and document facilitiesCommunicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients via email and mobile phoneTrack inspection progress, follow up on corrective actions, and escalate non-compliance issues as neededManage time, travel, and inspection schedules efficiently, including short-notice travelSupport construction contractor oversight, ensuring corrective actions are completed accurately and on scheduleSkillsPrevious experience performing NESC inspections OR hands-on experience working on an aerial cable line crewExperience conducting wooden pole ground-line inspectionsStrong knowledge of OSP Construction StandardsWorking knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)Proficiency with computers and basic office software, including: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel (2003 or newer), Microsoft OutlookComfortable using the internet and web-based systemsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalProven time management and organizational skillsValid driver's license with the ability to travel on short noticeExperience inspecting underground and buried plant in addition to aerial facilitiesFamiliarity with mapping and GPS technologiesDemonstrated construction contractor management or oversight experienceExperience with mapping tools such as Microsoft MapPoint (2009 or newer)BenefitsPerformance and referral bonusesProduction incentivesTool/equipment and fuel stipendsCompany vehiclePer diemHealth and life insurance401k with employer matchPaid time offTuition reimbursementProfessional development coursesFlexible spending accountsHSA optionPaid vacationPaid holidaysCompany OverviewPearce Services is a leading provider of repair, maintenance, engineering, installation and expansion solutions.
