Job Summary
Houston Skilled Consultancy is looking for a talented and experienced Remote Node.js API Developer with a strong focus on Microservices architecture to join our fast-growing global team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs, working with distributed systems, and deploying scalable backend services using Node.js. Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using Node.js.

Develop and maintain backend microservices that integrate with various third-party systems and internal services.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Write clean, efficient, and testable code with proper documentation.
• *
Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• *
Troubleshoot and resolve API and server-side issues quickly and efficiently.

Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and share best practices within the team.

Continuously research and apply new technologies, tools, and design patterns.
• Required Skills and Qualifications
• *
Proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+), with experience in building RESTful APIs and server-side applications.
• *
Strong understanding and practical experience with Microservices architecture and API Gateway patterns.
• *
Familiarity with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
• *
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container orchestration tools is highly desirable.
• *
Hands-on experience with NoSQL and SQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• *
Experience with authentication and authorization protocols such as OAuth2, JWT, etc.
• *
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js.

Proven track record of delivering production-grade microservices-based applications.
