[Remote] NOC Engineer

The NOC Engineer will monitor and maintain servers and network devices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system uptime. Responsibilities Monitor internal and production systems and escalating/paging level two engineers Work trouble tickets effectively and efficiently and engage Engineering, Support, QA, and other personnel in accordance with established processes and procedures Document problem descriptions and provide detailed problem diagnosis with accuracy and in compliance with established practices Review and update the status of problems in trouble-ticketing system Assist in maintaining Operations documentation including support guides, knowledge base articles, and procedures Participate in the transfer of information from one shift to the next Skills Previous experience of working within a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Operations environment Knowledge of Linux (command line) Previous experience with bash and or Python or other Linux scripting/ programming languages Previous experience with monitoring tools (Nagios preferred) Familiarity with trouble ticketing systems (Jira, lighthouse, Bugzilla, etc.) Experience troubleshooting Linux Exceptional interpersonal, communication, initiative, and leadership abilities Effective analytical, planning, organizational, and documentation skills Proven ability to multitask and prioritize while under pressure Experience working with Fortune Global 500, highly integrated, multi-vendor ecosystems with OC to OC communications LINUX and/or MS certifications are an asset US citizenship required Benefits Competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits Career success on your terms Flexible work environment Annual wellness and community outreach days Always on recognition for your contributions Global collaboration and networking opportunities Flexible time off A comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year A three-week Work from Anywhere option Company Overview Proofpoint provides cloud-based email security, e-discovery, and compliance solutions for companies to protect sensitive business data.
