Remote Medical Transcriptionist Opportunity - Work from Home
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will play a critical role in transcribing medico-legal dictation from Medical Examiners, Pathologists, and Pathology Residents with accuracy and timeliness. Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe and type medico-legal autopsy and external medical reports from recorded dictation with high accuracy and attention to detail
Ensure correct spelling of medical terms, punctuation, and grammar in transcribed reports
Make report corrections as required and requested by physicians
Print and distribute transcribed documents for review and approval
Sort and file reports and other case file information in a timely and organized manner
Provide general clerical support to the Records Section and Administration as needed
Maintain a log of all transcribed dictation and related activities, submitting logs on a weekly basis to supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Ability to type 60 words per minute with high accuracy
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and good knowledge of spelling and grammar
Skilled in the use of personal computers and standard office equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work cooperatively with peers and senior staff
Ability to establish work priorities and work with limited supervision
Ability to keep accurate records and maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of chemical and biological safe handling procedures
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program
Two (2) years of clerical work-related experience, plus one year experience in a clerical medical environment or 30 hours of college or a combination of the two
