Job Title: Medical Director - Remote | WFH

Job Overview

We are actively seeking a compassionate and highly experienced Medical Director to join our distinguished team at a prominent provider of mental health and substance use disorder services. This pivotal role involves delivering crucial medical oversight to a residential treatment program dedicated to adolescents facing substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive medical care, including thorough assessments, medication management, and ongoing patient health monitoring.
• Be available for 24/7 on-call support to address medical emergencies and provide consultations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising therapists, counselors, and other professionals to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
• Assist in the development and execution of medical protocols and policies aimed at enhancing treatment outcomes.
• Educate staff on pertinent medical topics, focusing on substance use disorders and medication management strategies.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of patient care through critical incident reviews and other quality assurance activities.

Required Skills
• Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating substance use disorders.
• Exceptional ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical protocols and procedures related to substance use disorders.

Qualifications

Option 1 (Physician):
• MD or DO degree.
• Successful completion of an emergency medicine or primary care residency.
• Board certification in emergency medicine or primary care.
• Experience with adolescents facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine is preferred.

Option 2 (Nurse Practitioner)
• RN degree (or equivalent).
• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• FNP-BC, PNP-BC, or ENP-BC certification.
• Prescriptive Authority licensure in Colorado.
• DEA certificate.
• Experience working with adolescents facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine.
