Remote Medical Coding and Billing
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing and coding of medical services, managing claims submissions, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes to ensure compliance with regulations and maximize revenue for the organization.
Duties
ā¢ Review patient records and documentation to ensure accurate billing and coding.
ā¢ Assign appropriate codes using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 standards.
ā¢ Process claims submissions to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims.
ā¢ Manage medical collections by contacting patients regarding unpaid balances.
ā¢ Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in EMR and EHR systems.
ā¢ Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
ā¢ Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
ā¢ Provide excellent customer service to patients inquiring about their bills or payment options.
Skills
ā¢ Proficient in medical billing processes and procedures.
ā¢ Strong knowledge of medical coding including ICD coding, CPT coding, and DRG.
ā¢ Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR systems for managing patient information.
ā¢ Solid understanding of medical terminology and medical records management.
ā¢ Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
ā¢ Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
ā¢ Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
