Job Summary: Cerner Corporation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Medical Billing Analyst to join our dynamic healthcare technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing medical claims efficiently, ensuring accuracy in billing and coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while contributing to Cerner’s mission of transforming healthcare through technology. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong analytical skills, familiarity with medical billing software, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: • Review, process, and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner. • Analyze billing data and resolve discrepancies, including denials and rejections. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations, as well as Cerner’s internal policies. • Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to clarify billing issues. • Maintain accurate patient and billing records using Cerner’s billing and electronic health record (EHR) systems. • Generate reports related to billing metrics, claim status, and revenue cycle performance. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in billing workflows. • Stay current on changes in coding, billing regulations, and payer requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management. • Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards. • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical billing software. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal teams and external partners. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities. Experience: • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or a related field. • Prior experience with remote work or virtual collaboration tools is an advantage. Working Hours: • Full-time, remote position. • Standard business hours, Monday to Friday. Flexible scheduling may be available depending on project demands. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Deep knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, insurance processes, and revenue cycle management. • Ability to interpret and apply coding and billing guidelines accurately. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and healthcare software tools. • Strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of claims efficiently. • Capability to adapt to new technologies and remote work systems. • High level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling patient and financial data.
