Skills
Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA or NCCT) required within one year of employment
Proficiency with computer systems and applications, including electronic health records (EHR) such as Athena
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced, remote setting
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication procedures, and basic coding (CPT, ICD-10)
Ability to maintain patient privacy and adhere to all safety, attendance, and appearance policies
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with reliable broadband and a dedicated workspace
Responsibilities
Serve as a vital member of our Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) team, working closely with our clinical team to ensure patient care and satisfaction
Oversee the enrollment, engagement, and coordination of patients throughout the RPM program
Initiate contact with patients for program enrollment and assist with compliance, education, and coordination with care teams
Accurately maintain patient rosters and monitor data collection to ensure it aligns with RPM requirements
Record patient vitals, medical history, and concerns during intake, providing thorough and efficient support
Monitor patient dashboards and ensure appropriate outreach for ongoing care and acute patient needs
Collaborate with other healthcare providers to address patient needs, including care coordination with cardiology teams
Keep patient records up to date and confidential, ensuring they are complete and accessible prior to appointments
Provide patient education, explaining treatment options and program details to patients and their caregivers
Maintain strong organizational skills while managing remote patient care across multiple practices, potentially in different states
Follow established protocols to respond effectively to urgent or emergent situations
Perform clerical duties such as answering phone calls, filing, and faxing as needed
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and work collaboratively to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
Assist with other duties as needed to support the team and improve patient care
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
At least 3 months of experience in a medical office setting preferred
