[Remote] Material Damage Specialist

Alternative Claims Management is a damage recovery expert negotiating the recovery of insurance claims on behalf of business clients in various industries. The Material Damage Specialist is responsible for assessing, billing, generating demand letters, and routing claims, while maintaining high levels of customer service and managing their workload.ResponsibilitiesMaintain a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers by returning phone calls and acknowledging correspondence in an appropriate timeframeEffectively and accurately evaluate data on all new claim submissionsReview and audit claims that meet the criteria for the ICAR program and total loss processingOrder and process independent appraisals on claims that meet the criteria for the ICAR program as neededUpdate and maintain various reports for the department’s needsComplete evaluations for hard hits and make judgment calls or decisions regarding billingConduct initial calls to report claims to insurance companies and confirm coverage as well as contact all parties involved to confirm damages and to verify insurance policy infoProcess payment demands and letters to parties involved, insurance companies, attorneys, and other representatives of the involved partiesDocument clearly and concisely all relevant activity on all files and make recommendations for additional activity as appropriateCommunicate and escalate claims with high degree of difficulty to Operations ManagerPerform other duties as assigned by the Operations ManagerSkillsMinimum 1-year in Claims or Customer Service settingEffective verbal and written communication skillsPrecise data entry skillsExceptional typing skillsGeneral office skills, computer proficiency and basic mathAbility to effectively manage own time and coordinate various tasks simultaneouslyActive listening skillsOperating systems (Windows and MacOS) experienceOffice suites (Microsoft Office, G Suite) experienceBe well organized and detailed orientedPersistence and the ability to work through and solve problemsDemonstrate professionalism have a positive and friendly attitudeAbility to remain calm and professional when speaking with difficult callersCritical thinking and ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problemsExperience in Salesforce reportingBenefitsHealthcareDental & VisionFSALT & ST DisabilityLife Insurance401KPTOCompany OverviewAlternative Claims Management (ACM) is the fleet damage recovery expert.
